Tea Dance - a great success
Despite the poor weather we all had a great time at our tea dance on 15th Jan. We welcomed 18 dancers from Bridge House Twirlers in Germany and with our own club members we managed to have 6 squares dancing between 16:00 and 18:00. One of their club callers, Achim Hammer, was with them and he shared the calling with Ian. It was very enjoyable dancing to them both. As well as the dancing we provided light refreshments in the form of traditional 'scones' with strawberry jam, cakes, chocolate (specially flown in from Germany) along with tea and coffee. Quite a few frienships were started and we hope to meet up again at the European Convention in Hochheim, which we think is not far from where their club is based. Many thanks go to Wendy and Dominik for all of the organising, we will remember the event for a long time.
No more Rounds on club nights
Sylvia has decided that it is time to retire from cueing and teaching Rounds before the squares on club nights. We would all like to say a great big thank you to her and Ron for the hard work and interesting sessions that they have run over the years. She has been an excellent teacher and has always found stimulating and enjoyable music to dance to. Many thanks once again, your sessions will be missed.
